One more practice!

"Skiers on Bridge" - by Jerry
Thanks for the fun at KVR last week.  I know it was a bit of an adventure for some, but I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.  It was a beautiful evening.

I looked at the VFW on Monday morning, and I think we can squeeze in one more practice on Wednesday before the snow is gone.  Check the blog Wednesday morning for any last minute details.

I think we can use the big barbeque grill again.  I will bring about 2 dozen brats and a dozen dogs.  If you and your skiers might be hungry after practice, bring some buns or something else for the grill and help us eat them.

WEDNESDAY at KVR

Sorry for the last minute switcharoo, but we're back to Wednesday, still at the Reserve.
The plan is to meet at the Visitor Center at 4 pm, or a little earlier.  Then we'll drive to Old 131 & Cty Hwy P (near Bridge 14 transition area).  We will ski back the Visitor Center.  I think most kids can handle this pretty easily, it is not too far.  There may be a small group of Polar Bears that choose to stay and just ski around the field at Old 131 & P.

Thanks for your flexibility, the weather will be better on Wednesday.

To The Reserve!

We'll have practice on Thursday this week, at KVR, along with their skiers.  Meet at the Visitor Center at 4:00pm.  There are bathrooms at the VC if anyone needs to change.

Carpooling should be an option.  I can take 2 people.  I will be leaving from Viroqua Middle School around 3:20.  Contact me if interested 485-0876.

Brrr!... Bundle Up!

Dress warmly for practice; masks and mittens would be a good idea.  As always, attendance is optional - use your discretion, but we'll be there.

Also, I'm thinking about having next week's practice at KVR, with their program.  This will be February 18th, since they practice on Thursdays.  We can probably arrange some car pooling options.  We'll just leave right after school.

Family Ski at KVR Saturday

Join us Saturday morning at the KVR Visitor Center for a fun family ski from 10:00 to noon.  You can bring a dish to pass and have lunch afterward.  It should be a nice day.  I'll be teaching ski lessons at 1:00 pm; ask at the Visitor Center if there are spots left.  There is a small fee for the lessons and skiers will need a KVR pass to ski in the morning (annual family passes are only $30).

It was a tight fit, but we got the trails groomed after the snow
and had a great time skiing on Wednesday!

Viroqua Hills Golf Course is freshly groomed (for skating only) and looks awesome, too.
Get out and enjoy the fresh snow while we have it!

Practice Today

Yes, there will be practice today, regardless of school delays or closure.  Conditions will be soft.

If there are problems getting the trails groomed, I will post an update before noon.

So plan on skiing this afternoon.  Dress for the wind and dropping temps.
