Family Ski Day Feb 6 at KVR

Join us this Saturday, February 6th, for a family ski outing at Kickapoo Valley Reserve.  We will meet at the Visitor Center and ski from 10:00am to noon.  Bring a dish to pass and enjoy the pot luck lunch in the Visitor Center classroom afterward.  Families from the KVR ski club may join us.  I will be giving ski lessons at 1pm; call the KVR Visitor Center to see if there are any spots open.

I had fun skating with my speedy skiers on Wednesday.  Depending on the timing and amount of snow we get on Tuesday, it may be difficult to keep up with the grooming.  Check back on Wednesday morning for an update.

First practice today

We will have our first practice today at 3:45 at the VFW.  Please park off to the north side near the snow piles.  Kids can use the banquet room to get ready if needed.  We'll meet in the parking area for a few quick announcements and a group warm-up, then get out skiing.

Sign-up Friday 5pm at VMH

Information and sign-up will be at 5pm Friday January 22nd in the conference room in the basement of VMH.
We are still trying to finalize the logistics for this season and should have the details at Sign-up night.  We are trying to secure the VFW for practices on Wednesday afternoons.

Coming Soon: 2016 Ski Season

Greetings Skiers!  We are happy to announce that there will again be a ski program offered this year.  There will be a short presentation, Q&A and sign-up on Friday, January 22 at 5pm, probably at VMH.  Bluedog will have rental skis available for pick-up at their shop after the sign-up.

We are finalizing the details, but plan to have the practices on Friday afternoons (3:30 - 5:00pm).  The first practice will be on Friday, January 29 and we will try to have 5 practices this year.  Practices will likely be in the Viroqua area.  We plan to also offer one or two 'Family Ski Outings' at a nearby trail.
